Rich and creamy, this decadent fudge makes a sweet treat for sharing any time of the year.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes (+ 2 hours 20 minutes standing time)
Makes: 24 servings
Ingredients:
2 bars (1.5 oz each) M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp corn syrup
1/4 cup butter, cut into cubes
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Chop M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bar; set aside. Grease 8- x 4-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
2. In saucepan, combine sugar, milk, cocoa powder and corn syrup; bring to boil, stirring constantly with wooden spoon. Cover and cook for 2 minutes; uncover and cook, without stirring, until temperature reaches 238˚F on candy thermometer or soft-ball stage. Remove from heat.
3. Drop butter and vanilla into saucepan, without stirring. Let stand until mixture cools to 110°F. Beat vigorously using wooden spoon until mixture loses its gloss and thickens. Stir in half of the chopped M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bar.
4. Scrape into prepared pan; smooth top. Sprinkle with remaining chopped M&M’s Milk Chocolate Bar. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours or until set.
5. Remove from pan and peel off parchment paper. Cut into 24 pieces. (Can be stored in airtight container for up to 1 week.)
Tip: If you do not have a candy thermometer, test for soft-ball stage. When a bit of the mixture is dropped into cold water, it will form a soft ball that will flatten when pressed between your fingers.
